Edward Chambers:  

After high school, I went off to Texas A&M, then after a couple of years joined the Air Force. I did four years, saw Guam and Germany, then came home and completed my education while working in Contracting and Procurement at Kelly AFB. In 1980, I moved to Houston and went to work at NASA Johnson Space Center. I left the civil service in 1986 and spent almost ten years in the private sector with a host of aerospace contractors. I moved to Dallas in 1995 and joined the transit agency (DART) as a senior manager in Contracting. In 2004, I left to do two years as a contractor in Iraq working in the Iraq Reconstruction office doing water and public works projects. I came 'home' to San Antonio for about three months in 2006 before leaving to go to Bogota, Colombia where I was the Chief of Contracting for the military group at the U.S. Embassy for thirty months.
