Edward's Story
Life
Born in San Diego, grew up in La Mesa, attended, Sacred Heart in San Diego, and St. Martins in LaMesa. Graduated from St.Augustine High School 1956, attended University of San Diego 1956-58, attended Palomar College 1960-1961, graduated from Palomar in 1961, graduated from Cal Poly SLO with a BS in 1963. Did a year of graduate work. Received my MA 1965. Taught school at Atascadero High School 1964-67. Oceanside High School 1967-1976. El Camino High School 1976-2001, (El Camino also in Oceanside, CA). Coached, football, baseball, cross country, track, wrestling, softball, tennis, and golf. Taught everything from World History, U.S. History, Geography, Sociology, Dr.Ed., Math, Biology, to PE. Retired in 2001 after 37 years of teaching.
Was also in Oahu, Hawaii, in 1941 when the Japan...Expand for more
ese bombed Pearl Harbor!. I was three years old. My dad was stationed at the Submarine Base at that time.
Got married in 1969 to a beautiful brunette from Colorado. Met her at a night class that we both were taking in order to teach a certain subject in the State of California. She was teaching at Vista High School in the town of Vista, a short drive from Oceanside. Married for 43 years, have three daughters, all college graduates. One living in Spokane,WA, and two in Oceanside. Four grandchildren (girls), three live in the state of Washington, one in Oceanside. So all I do now is play golf and flyfish(learned because my wife is from Colorado).
Live in Oceanside, CA, and am currently on Weight Watchers. :)
