Edward's Story
Life
Hello Everyone! I am currently living in Bellmore (been here since 1989... Dad has now moved to Margate, Florida. Unfortunately, Mom passed away in October 2009). In 1994, I began teaching Spanish at Christ the King Regional High School, Middle Village, Queens. From 2004-2007, I taught Religion there as well. In June 2011, I was offered a severance package due to low enrollment and subsequent lay offs. I accepted the offer. I took some time off to have a breather. I returned to teaching in 2013...but this time I taught elementary level...I was the Spanish teacher, grades 1-8 at Holy Family Catholic Academy. It was quite an interesting experience. But...in September 2017, I was offered the very unexpected opportunity...Expand for more
to return to the high school level...and I accepted. I now teach Spanish at Saint Mary's High School in Manhasset, Long Island. My "career" (such as it is) as a playwright really took off in 1995-with a play at an off-Broadway theatre in Greenwich Village (starring, among others, Bill Wilson, of the St. Pius X Class of 1977). In total, I have had six plays on the stage (local theatres on Long Island). Two of them have been revived. I am involved in quite a bit of charity work, and run many fundraising events. It gets hectic, but I love every minute of it. In October 2008, I returned to college. I entered a certification program for Development and Fundraising Management. I've never been happier! I hope to hear from you!
