Edward's Story
Life
I'm single with one child from a previous marriage. I live in Lakeland, Florida and have been here for 17 years. I work for the city of Lakeland as a police officer/detective. Before that I was in the Army for 5 years.
School
Since leaving Yo-Hi we moved to Kentucky where my dad is from. I stayed there for 5 years until I graduated Breckinridge County High School in 1984.
College
I began college while I was in the Army. I started out with Canandaigua Community College in NY. I didn't take it too serious and only took one class.
Later I was transfered to Ft Leonard Wood, MO. I didn't bother with it there, but took a bunch of job related tests.
After leaving there I went to Turkey. I tried the college thing again with the University of Maryland. But once again I did not care for it. I did some CLEP/DANTES tests and that was it.
It wasn't until they made it a requirement at my job with the city of Lakeland to get promoted that I took it serious. I went to St Leo University and it took me 2 1/2 years to complete it. I ended with a 3.57 average which is pretty good. I have my degree in Criminology with a minor in Social Science.
Workplace

e since 1989. I attended the police academy at Polk Community College, Winter Haven, FL.
I started in uniformed patrol division. I did 8 years in patrol. Later I finally got picked to go to Special Investigations Section. I began my "dope" career doing vice investigations. Later I was picked for a newly formed task force. I stayed there for about 2 years and left to finish school. I went back to my departments investigations group.
Now I am trying to get a job with FDLE as an agent.
Military
I began at the Military Police School at Ft McClellan, AL in 1984. I was in E Company 11th MP BN. Afterward, I was sent to the 295th MP Company at Seneca Army Depot, NY. I put in for a stateside swap and went to Ft Leonard Wood, MO. While there I was in the 463rd MP Comapany, later I went to HQ Company where I was in the Traffic Unit. Later I went back to the 463rd.
I got bored with being stateside and put in a request to go to Germany. I didn't get Germany, I got Turkey. I was stationed with the 70th Ord Company in Cakmakli. While there we did security and worked closely with the Turks. I extended my service time and went to Ft Knox, KY where I finished my time in the service.
I ETS'd in April of 1989.
