Edward's Story
After high school, I attended and graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 1966. Sylvia Farnum and I were married, and then we embarked on a military career. After several command and staff assignments, I retired from the Air Force in 1987 as a full Colonel. With a PhD in hand, a new career commenced teaching graduate management and marketing classes in the School of Business at Marymount University. I stayed with MU for 20 plus years, and retired in the summer of 2009. Sylvia completed a teaching degree from Worcester State College prior to the military. We have three sons. EdII is married with two daughters. He got his JD from the University of Virginia, and is currently a senior partner with a DC law firm. Jim has a son who lives with him from a previous marriage. Jim was remarried in September 2009, and they are expecting a new baby in September. David graduated from George Mason University and is a software engineer with a Defense contractor. He has a son. All three sons and their families live in Northern Virginia. Sylvia and I live in Leesburg, Virginia with two Australian Shepherds. We are both avid golfers, but I have to admit Sylvia is much better. We are planning a series of trips starting this summer (2010).
