Edward's Story
Worked at Kaiser Hayward for 10 years, moved to Stockton '87. I then worked at Kaiser South Sacramento for 5 yrs, then quit to take care of my ailing parents and worked for the Respiratory Registry in Concord until 2004. I then retired and decided I wanted to go back to school so I started attending CSU Stanislaus satellite in Stockton then I transferred to CSU Stanislaus in Turlock and earned a BA in Anthropology. I am now currently working on a Master's Degree in Gerontology at CSU Stanislaus and will transfer to SF State for a PhD in Gerontology by 2011 or so. Oh Yeah though not as a second thought I married in 1991 and divorced in 2002 and have two children a daughter 17 and a son who is now 13. Life has been great and a challenge. I had a triple by-pass surgery in 2008 which caused a kidney failure but I am healthy as a bull, well a 55 year old bull. some. It is kind of funny I never really went to any functions at school, no Jr or Sr prom, dances; nothing. I guess I felt that that was not my thing I was in a band and we played all over the Bay area who needed another party? I never went passed Junior Varsity football because coach Fredricks sucked with the Varsity football team, maybe if coach John Payne stayed I might have played Varsity. Well that is all in the past anyway no use beating a lying dog! Well I better go back to writing my Research Proposal on Health Literacy in Older Adults , I know it sounds dull but it actually isn't. Well that's who I was , I am, and will be when I grow up. Forgive me if I do not use smiley faces and numbers in the place of one or to, I prefer words. My daughter thinks that I'm a old geezer who doesn't move with the times. I tell her that in my day we learned words when writing not symbols, of course we had to dodge dinosaurs!?!?!
