Edward's Story
Life
After graduation from Liberty, I attended a technical college in Cape Canaveral Fla., then went on to get an Associate Degree from Penn State in Allentown. After graduation from PSU, the draft was about to get me, however I dodged the draft, and entered the USAF, serving for 3 years, 11 months, 19.5 days. After discharge from the USAF, I hired on with Control Data, as a Field Engineer working on their largest machines, since then I have also worked for ETA, Cray, & Silicon Graphics in the Greater Washington DC area and now in the Princeton NJ area.
Workplace
After being discharged I went to work for Control Data Corp. I got to work on
some of the original Seymour Cray designed equipment, and have bee...Expand for more

on Super Computers the rest of my career. Control Data ceased to exist in
the supercomputer market around 1990, and this is when I joined Cray Research Inc. After several years with CRI, they merged with Silicon Graphics Inc. only later to be spun off as a stand alone company. I however remained
working for SGI, working on their larger servers (1024 cpus)
Military
Went thru basic training at Lackland AFB, in Texas. Then attended Tech School at Lowery AFB in Colorado. After Tech School, first assignment was an Isolated
Remote in Fiji Islands. After leaving Fiji, I was stationed in Alexandria Va.
Did not have enough time left when the outfit moved to Florida, and got an
early out of 11.5 days.
