Eddie C's Story

***Please see "TIME LINE"CLICK 'PROFILE'" for story***Double Click to view full picture*** As 'ONE' of Atlanta's best ballroom dancer's of the late 1940's, and his trials, heart breaks, and 'why' he did it his way. My current age is...use your fingers to count the year's! )When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be Moses. I was so completely WRONG. She (my first love-of 1948) passed away with breast cancer in 1995. My best friend would tell you I'm blind, but people who know me very well would probably describe me as a romantic , from the past. If I had the say so, I would only change very little, but that little part would be to... Go for my dream! All the way..Move over Gene Kelly!, here comes the 'kid' Eddie C. In 10 years, I hope to be STILL ALVIE!. I'm going to get there by doctor's, doctor's, and more doctors. My mentor, big brother and a 23 yr old B-17 Radio Gunner with 21 missions over Germany. My hair, and how skinny ..I STILL AM! (waist 32-under 135 lbs). Played 'hookey' when i was 7.! My first job was at a drug store, where I got paid 25 cents an hour to be a 'soda-jerk'. What I remember most about it, were the pretty girl's sitting at the counter, drinking milk shakes.. The Ice Storm of 1939/40, my father waiting on his pay check..from: THE: WPA.! The reason we wound up in Charleston, S. C. (1941). I always wanted to be a professional dancer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were dreaming..as I was, but then I was only 18, they wer...Expand for more
e old enought to know better!. My life turned out very well, & to a certain degree, a moderate success, for a 'depression era kid', 10 yr's of banking & retired with the U S Govt-DOD..not bad...drive, guts, ambition,a strong believer in GOD & hard work, made me who I am today..with a stroke of excellent timing..my wife of now 53 yr's..walked into my life, and saved a 'kid' from messing up his life..but then, that's a story for tomorrow.! (the king of the ballroom floor was getting a 'fat head'-1953-after a first love almost destroyed me-1948-1952)..I had a 'Rose' 1948, but then found an 'ORCHID'-1953. To be 'truly happy', I would still be 18-35!, and on the ballroom floor, fine tuning my ballroom routine. That's life, ! win some .. lose some. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my basement, add on a spa, and a professional hard wood floor. My dream home would be one big ballroom dance floor. My oldest friend, was a good looking young man 2 yrs my senior, we met in 1949..he had a big crush on my then girl friend..why we 'clicked' ?? his looks would get the girls attention, my dancing would take us on a long road of MANY happy adventures. - In other words - the two of us togeather made a great team.. Say to myself! why did you do that!..get back up, dust your self off..next time, make sure you win Eddie C! - I might add..of which the 'kid' did. Sincerely: Eddie C. ***PS*** Want to know more, about what made Eddie C. 'tick'?? /what made him run, then read: My profile: with the insert intitled: Revisit to 1942***
