Edwin's Story
Life
Having graduated Magna Cum Laude from Baker College of Flint , Mich in 2005 with an Associates in Electronic Engineering, I then graduated from Lawrence Technological University in Southfield with a Bachelor's in Engineering Technology in December, 2007. Unfortunately, the degrees were not enough to get work because of being disabled. Now I'm retired and drawing social security disability and my pension. When I received my social security retroactive pay, I invested the money in a nice house in a quiet area of Kimball Towmship just West of Port Huron and a few miles from my son's house near Marysville. ng for the garden and yard around my home and doing chatity work with the Richmond VFW where I am President of the Men's Auxiliary.
Workplace
Started out after high school in plastics. Went from press operator, to stock handler, to assistant foreman, to foreman. Left to go to Lionel as a diemaker. Then went to Cross as a machine builder/toolmaker. Stayed 16 years. moved to EX-CELL-O in same job for 3 years. Moved to Cargill-Detroit Machine Tool Co. Became disabled due to Degenerative Osteoarthritis and am now living on Social Security and My Pension. Just had my first knee replacement in April, 2012 and am getting ready to have the hip done next. The other knee will follow in a few years.
