Eileen's Story
Workplace
I direct volunteer programs for Senior's age 60 and up in five northern California counties. The programs I direct are the Foster Grandparent Program and the Senior Companion Program. These volunteers are an incredible testiment of all that is good with our country. They bring an incredible lifetime of experience to help special needs children as mentors and tutors, and frail, homebound senior to stay independent in their homes. onal Board that meets twice a year in Washington D.C. and work with directors from across our nation. Also as a result of my work I was offered a schlorship for a Master's of Science Degree in Gerontology from the University of Indianapolis. Which I received in 2009.
I retired in 2016. Since then I’ve traveled with friends and volunteer in my community serving on boards and councils to assist older adults in two counties. Spending time with my grandchildren is a true joy and delight.
