Elaine's Story

After high school, I graduated from NIU and then moved to the western suburbs. I married Clark Wood in 1975 and we have a son and a daughter. Greg is a sixth grade social studies teacher and Kristin is an attorney. I worked as an HR Director for many years, and in later years, I had a successful real estate career. Nowadays, I am a Court Advocate for animal abuse cases in the Chicagoland area. I also volunteer with border collie dog rescue and am active in our church. In December, 2021, I received my second kidney transplant, I am very thankful to the parents of the 18 year old boy who donated their sons’ kidney for my first transplant in 1994, and to the family of the sec...Expand for more
ond donor for my 2021 transplant. Their donations have tremendously improved my quality of life. Clark and I love to travel and have been to many countries including Russia, Tunisia, Nicarragua and many European and Scandinavian countries. We also enjoy cruises. Although we live in the suburbs, we love Chicago and own a condo in Wrigleyville. We enjoy attending the Cubs games. I was unable to attend the 50th high school reunion in 2021, but enjoyed reconnecting with classmates on FB. I no longer have family living in the Hall HS area so I rarely get back to Spring Valley. My favorite high school memory was being a Devilette and enjoying the football and basketball games.
