Elaine's Story
I can not believe that it is 40+ years since we graduated from high school (Mary Louis)! I am still in the field of education. Currently, I am involved in private educational consulting and I do lots of writing (nothing that has made me rich and famous though!) I use my Ph. D. in lots of other ways as well. I am very active in church-things and am a permanently professed member of the Dominican Laity (Order of Preachers). I was also a Stephen Minister (crisis-care ministry) for ten years.
I am married to Richard LeBlanc (from Louisiana) and have two adopted children, both of whom we adopted at their births in 1983 and 1987. My youngest presented us with our first grandchild in 2008. Richard is Professor Emeritus at Georgia Tech. We lived in Georgia until 2008 . He then took a position at Seattle University as the Department Chair of Computer Science and Software Engineering. I am getting used to Seattle after living on the east cost my whole life. I love...Expand for more
watching my grandchild grow !
I got here via South Carolina after I moved South after teaching out in Patchogue after graduating from St. John's. (Can I get by with that run-on sentence!?) I've worked for the State Dept. of Education in GA as a k-12 consultant but the traveling got to be very old (along with me, I think!). I also worked at the University level as a supervisor of student teaching and adjunct professor.
People who know me from childhood are surprised that quiet me from way back then is now reflective me and extremely out-going! I am not so sure about the physical changes over the years. I am still rather short (5 ft.) but that never bothered me (My husband is 6 ft. 2). I stay very active in too many things, but that is because I feel life is too short to waste. (Both of my parents died young: mom at 58 and dad at 63.) I'd love to re-connect with folks from TMLA and share our journeys. Please e-mail me if you'd like to communicate.
