Eldon's Story
I have become a 100% disabled veteran with over 25 years of Army service. I graduated the fall of 2009 from Texas A&M University Central Texas with a Master of Business Administration degree, a minor in Management and Leadership and a concentration in information systems. Since I have so little to brag about these days, I cannot resist: I was able to finish both my undergraduate and graduate degrees with a perfect 4.0 grade point average. What do you know; I'm still an ugly, nerdy little egg-headed geek with limited social skills! Go figure. I plan to begin my doctor of public health program this October through Capella University out of Minneapolis, MN. It is a new online program, with extremely limited residency requirements, and none of them will be in Minnesota, thank goodness!!!

urgeries I've needed regularly to manage my intense pain since 2001. My health deteriorated, and I was forced to resign. Then the Army came through and performed the procedures for me at Brooke Army Medical Center. They wouldn't take me back at my old position, though! Just as well; it has been a difficult recovery after my condition had been let go for far too long. Now I need the surgeries again. My first is scheduled for April 5th.
My life-long dream of becoming a healthcare professional with my own medical practice was lost with my debility. My condition is worsened by cold climates, so I will not be returning to Carrollton for any extended stays. Contrary to popular belief I found a woman who would actually marry me and has stayed by me now for almost 25 years.
I miss quite a few of you A LOT more than I ever dreamed I would. You were a wonderful group of people who filled my childhood, teen years, and young adulthood with countless superb memories I will always cherish. Best wishes ALWAYS, especially you, FONEBONE!
