Eleanor's Story
Well by now you've seen my history. Ottawa til 22 yrs old, then USA since. Married 47 yrs with 2 kids, 2 grandkids. Wow short version of my history.
When you put it like that life seems very short and not much color to it, LOL. You just have to imagine the inbetween and put y our own color in it.
We are living in Boise, ID right now with Dave's Dad. Dad is 95 soon to be 96 yrs old going on 70. He still drives, plays bridge, gardens, cuts his lawn, etc etc. We're just here for moral support. He's awesome.
Just spent 4 days in Washington, DC area with Vera Hamman (Nesbitt). Gene Hamman her husband died in December in Knoxville, TN and he wanted to be buried in Arlington Nationa...Expand for more
l Cemetery, so we were there for the funeral.
We had a day to see DC and since we both had lived there before we decided to just take a car tour. Vera hired a driver and car and we toured Georgetown, DC and Alexandria. Was a fun afternoon.
Monday was the funeral and I've put pictures of our time and the funeral on my Facebook page. It was an awesome ceremony and very fitting for a Vietnman Vet who was a helicopter pilot during that time. He made rescue mission among other things during that time.
After the funeral we had a celebration of Gene's Life at Billy Martin's Tavern because that was a place that Vera remembered Gene taking her to when they lived in DC area.
