Elena's Story
Life
I met my husband John in 1983 while living in South Lake Tahoe. Married him in 1993 (why rush into things, ay?) and had my son at age 40 while I was in medical school.
We adopted an adorable little girl from West Africa (Sierra Leone) in 2003 (yup, beat Angelina and Brad) and so my 2 kids are now both 11 and rambunctious, and I am working full time in internal medicine, while driving them to soccer and skiing. I get to...Expand for more
ski, also! My husband coaches the Alpine Meadows junior racers in his spare time on weekends, so we get free ski passes and are up there a lot.
We live in Truckee, California. Two dogs, 3 cats, one spoiled ex-race horse whom we rescued from the glue factory after he wasn't able to run fast anymore.
That's about it! I've gotten everything I ever wanted by being persistent and too stupid to think things wouldn't work out.
