Elisa (Lisa)'s Story
Life as it is now:
Back in Houston since 1999 after 2 years in Sag Harbor, NY and 4 in Seattle, WA. Am married to my second (and last) husband, Carter, class of 74, Milby. I have a 22 year old stepson who is a US Marine back in Houston from his 2nd tour of Iraq, and an 18 year old stepdaughter who will graduate from Reagan High in San Antonio this year. Thank goodness she is a much better teenager than I was. Still in the photo industry working for Science Faction Images based in Seattle. All best to you and yours!
Pearl Hall Memories
1st grade - There was construction in the recess area and I pushed Stephen Snow in the big hole. Can't remember if it was accidental or intentional. He got muddy and I think I got a talking to by Mrs. Hoover. Sorry Stephen!
2nd grade (I think). I kicked Pat Rigby really hard in the shin at recess. I got a talking to by Mrs. Shaver. Sorry Pat!
3rd grade - Lead role of Josephine in the HMS Pinafore school play. Kathy Johnson (I think!) really had the better voice and mine cracked during the actual performance. Steve Brzezinski & Michael Murphy were the leading men.
4th grade - For Social Studies, Mrs Roush made Chinese food for everyone and we sat on the floor and ate it. Also we had to pick a landmark that rhymed with our name for Geography. Leaning Tower of Pisa.
5th grade - I got pops for something - can't remember what. Got 'em again when I got home, too.
I fondly remember the end of the day gatherings in the auditorium where we would all sing at the top of our lungs wit...Expand for more

QUEENS INTERMEDIATE
Went steady with: Allen Long, Billy Clyatt, Mark Sharp (GRHS), Tim Griffin (GRHS), David Olsen, Chuck Kamp, Raymond Mendez, Mike Fontes, & Johnny Rangel. Correct me if I am wrong or let me know if I should have mentioned you. I was a busy girl! hahaha How I wish I still had those ID bracelets!!
Sherrie DeBerry and I got in trouble for changing clothes in the restroom. We were changing out of our dresses into shorts for the football game!
Sherrie and I also staged a mock girl fight at the bus stop. We were acting so well we actually ended up getting mad at eath other and fighting for real! Ouch.
Mr Williams making an announcement over the loud speaker for "all the cripples to leave early at x time". I wrote a letter to him saying that his use of the word was not very nice. He changed it to handicapped after that.
Writing letters in class to Mark Sharp (God Rest His Soul), Glen Austin, Stevie Means, Patti May, Sherrie D, Frances Rutherford, Brenda Hughes and many others!
That fort that used to be at the land where there are now apartments. It was where the land made a V between 8th St and Allen Genoa. I smoked my first cigarette there.
Meeting Johnny Rangel at the gas station across from school. I thought he worked there because he was sitting at the desk. I had detention & needed to use the phone to call my Mom to pick me up - she said no - that I had to walk home. She was punishing me for having detention. Johnny walked me home. And I lived in the Avenues!
