Elizabeth's Story
Let's see. I live quite a distance from Brandon. I now live in Upstate NY near Syracuse. It is kind of funny because as a teenager I wanted to live in NY. This is so not what I had in mind. I am about 5 hours north of NYC, and about 1 hour south of Canada. It is nice here, but the winters are horrible. I did get pretty used to driving in the snow, until Feb. of this year when I flipped my nice Jeep over totalling it. I am currently working as a RN case manager and clinical supervisor for an assisted living program. I sort of like my job, but wish I had more hands on nursing to do. Before my accident I was a nurse manager of two units of a large nursing home. Due to injuries in the accident I was unable to continue that physical job and was forced to make a switch. As time goes on, and more healing happens I will be able to return to a field I am more into. I love being a nurse an can not picture myself doing anything else. e. Anytime I have a bad day at work, or at my last job when my patients died, all I had to do was come home, look in her eyes, and all the stress was gone. She truly is a wonderful girl. People say that life doesn't turn out the way you expect and they are right. When I was younger I never pictured myself here, in NY, raising a daughter alone, divorced at 24, but stuff happens. I wouldn't change the past because you learn from it. I learned what I want in a relationship, and lucky for me he has turned out to be a pretty decent dad. Not overly involved at all, but still pretty decent. I was close to my family back in high school and we are even closer now. Most likely because we all made this huge move together so it was just us for a while. Our family has grown now though because we have many wonderful friends, and in addition to my daughter I have a beautiful niece too. Looking back my life may not be where I thought it would be back in high schoool but it is for sure where I want it to be now.
