Elizabeth (Beth)'s Story
Life
After college I worked as a fine jeweler, married briefly (and foolishly), started what's now the largest video game magazine in the world, then stumbled into a wild career as a PR/Marketing exec in the video/computer games and digital media fields. It's my job to know what the 18-34 year old male wants...very scary. Work took me first to Southern California, but now the cat & I are at home in the woods in the Santa Cruz Mountains (near Silicon Valley), where I spend my free time writing, hiking, cooking, making jewelery, and pouring/collecting and learning about wine. I have an amazing group of friends with whom I share my love of food, wine, movies, etc...and still hold out hope that I won't grow old by myself.
School
My great-grandmother once told me never to say I could have been good at something, but I never tried...so I tried almost everything. So my school years were spent full of friends, work, and way too many extra-curriculars. I just wish I had the same outlook on life then that I have now, as I'd have be...Expand for more

College
Collage at Gustavus Adolphus was an interesting time full of extraordinarly people, great loves, emotional drama, interesting (and not interesting) classes, and not enough studying - I wasn't the most disciplined student because I was just too darned busy. If I had to do it all over again, I would do so with a serious adjustment to priorities...and I would have spent that semester in Italy.
Workplace
...computer and video games, digital media, high tech - an amazing cast of co-workers that are brilliant and creative. We work hard, play hard, and love what we do. And then I go do the wine thing - pouring, selling, collecting, sharing, learning... I just gave up a job (and sadly the big paycheck that went with it) due to the insane hours that global strategic marketing requires. I'm taking a breather at a pr/marketing firm where the people are great, the clients are interesting, and I actually get to see daylight once in awhile. I just hope I haven't become self-actualized too late in life. ;-)
