Life Dear Former Classmates - Does anyone remember me? I went to Koko Head Elementary, grades 5 and 6. Niu Valley Intermediate (7, 8, part of 9th)- kicked out and went to Pacific Prep to finish 9th grade. I went to the International School Bangkok (Thailand) for 10th grade. Moved back to Hawaii in October 1973 and went to Kaiser (11th grade) until we moved to Texas in March of 1974. Graduated from Duncanville High School (Dallas area) in 1975. After high school I went back to Hawaii for several months. Enjoyed the Crater Festival in July that summer. My friends weren't doing too much educational-wise and the expense(!), so decided to go back to Texas, live at home and went to college for a couple years. Was a Private Investigator (insurance) for a few years. Then found myself working as a Graphics Artist for years. (My Mom always said I was artistic.) Did logo design, drafted and pasted business forms, brochures, etc. (All easily done on computer now.) Had taught myself how to play the drums and joined a Hawaiian band in the Dallas area. Did that on the side for a few years. It was fun, we did luaus and also dance-type music, oldies-type songs which then, in the 80's, was stuff from the 50's and 60's. The group, named Jus' Hawaiians, was full of actual Hawaiians. You know, real Hawaiians who can no longer afford to live in Hawaii. Stuck here in Texas. No surf. But lots of lakes for their sail boats, Hobie Cats, etc. I met my husband Chris through a mutual friend in 1982. Got married in September 1983. Moved to the Houston area where daughter Kristy born in December 1984. (My fate was sealed - a stay-at-home Mom. Couldn't bear to leave my little girl with strangers.) Son Richard was born in May 1987. 'Afterthought' Jonathan was born in May 1991. My Dad was retired Air Force when we went through Dallas in 1967 and he applied at the Army and Air Force Exchange Service. That's how we ended up in Hawaii, Thailand and...Expand for more
