Elizabeth's Story
After graduating high school, I attended Solano Community College and received my A.S. degree. I was tired of living in Fairfield, so I moved to Sunnyvale, CA with my boyfriend (that I had all through high school). I worked a few years in the Silicon Valley and then went to work for the Navy. I got married in 1986 (to the same boyfriend) and had my first child, a son, named Daniel. After becoming a mother, and the 1989 earthquake, I realized that I needed to work closer to home. San Bruno everyday and was missing time with my son. I found work in Vacaville. Being a working mom just wasn't for me. I wanted to be with my son full-time. So, I started my own Daycare business and had my second son, Ryan. I have been in the Daycare business for 19 years. My sons are now 21 and 18, and I can honestly say that being home with them is the greatest joy! I was there for all of their milestones, baseball and basketball games, field trips and school events. I didn't miss a thing.
