Elizabeth's Story
Life
After having taken advantage of the State's early retirement offer in 1997, I worked as the program director of a substance abuse prevention program in a Danbury public housing project. In the summer of 1998, I took the first of the prescribed courses for the MSW. Going full time, I received the master's degree in 2000, the same year my youngest daughter finished high school. I was invited by the agency at which I completed the second year practicum to take a durational position for a therapist who was on parental leave. I then worked in private practice as a psychotherapist (My kids say I'm a psycho who's a therapist.)
Husband Mark Azzara from California; met him at Uconn in '65. Married June 1, 1968.
Daughters Krista Elizabeth, Lori Patricia, Patti Rebekka.
Lori and Paul Stiver gave me a grandaughter, Lainee Joy, in April '01 and their second child was born Feb 11, 2003 at 11:11am, a grandson, Jonathan Benett!!! They adopted Bethany Fangyin when she was 10 mos. and brought her back from China in Oct., 2005. She's 2 now and is doing well...Expand for more

Krista has been accepted to study in London at Kings College for her Master of Arts degree in museum curatorship. As of Sept. '07, she's in GB and working toward her goal.
Youngest daughter has her own production company in Manhattan and produced and directed an all female cast presentation of Midsummer's Night Dream. Hilarious!!!
I've held jobs in several public and private agencies serving the mentally ill and/or substance abusers. I am presently pursuing CT Licensure as a clinical social worker.
When I'm in Waterbury (which is quite often), I'm looking forward to bumping into some of my high school classmates around town. Maybe some Waterbury Branch UConn and Crosby and Croft friends, too.

Presently gathering all the transcripts, certificates, and what-nots that must be reviewed before I can be accepted to a Ph.D. program (You guessed it: social work!)
Have yet to get even 2 numbers right on a lottery ticket!!!
