Elizabeth's Story
Life
My early professional life involved organizing shelters for abused women and their families. I was director of a coalition which opened the first statewide shelter network in the country. I'm proud to see that the network has thrived and grown.
That was not a job one should do for too long. Exhausted, I went to work in higher education. For the past thirty years I have been a counselor and academic adviser at CCSU in New Britain, CT.
Rich and I should have met many times before we did. The number of people and activities we had in common is astounding. We were even at the same Crosby, Still and Nash concert at the Filmore East back in 1969! We got married in Hawaii 3 months after we met. That was 24 years ago.
Our two kids are, as my uncle used to say, "an improvement on the breed"....Expand for more
Em is 21. She is an articulate, creative, angst-ridden artist with an interest in physics. She expects to graduate in December. Her brother is more preppy and atheletic. The blonde, blue-eyed charmer has girls calling the house all the time. Since the kids went off tho college I have acquired a cocker spaniel puppy. He keeps me active.
In addition to our modest home in Glastonbury Connecticut, we have an octagonal house on a cliff overlooking David Pond in Maine. It is a toasty refuge in winter, a family tree house in summer, and a colorful getaway in the fall. The Spring...well three seasons are nice.
I'd love to hear from old friends.
