Elizabeth's Story
I was of course a graduate of 1956 from Irving School. I then went on to Hammond Tech. I started working at Rueth's Builders. I got engaged to Joe Pluta, a boy from East Chicgo. I also went to the Irving prom with him in 1956. I was engaged for a year. Joe was in the U. S. Air Force. He was tranfered to England. After a year or so he thought it would be a good idea for me to come over and get married over in England.......After some thought I decided it would be an adventure also. Off I went. ket near Cambride. Walked down to the Market trying to make the pence's stretch. Our friends from England have visited us many times. It was a lot of fun. In 1999, Joe got ill and passed away in August of 2000. We would have been married 40 years. We have one son and two grandchildren. I love gardening! I go out to take the garbage and forget to come in for a couple hours. I like to go to see The Northwest Indiana Symphony. I also still like the "oldies". I am active in church. I am now busy with Vacation Bible School. Drawing and designing the back drops and float, which I hope will get first prize intead of second.. What fun. The kids are also a real blast.
