Elizabeth's Story

Life After graduating from Viscount I worked for one year and then studied my first year university. I moved to Vancouver 1970; worked with Parks and Rec in programs for kids with disabilities and then in business. I married and moved to Toronto at Christmas 1974. I have 3 wonderful adult sons. I served 3 terms on city council and 18 years with library boards. I was an integral part of building or rebuilding public libraries in a city of 365,000 people. Over the years my children were growing and learning, I volunteered with Scouts Canada, Home and School, and many community groups. In 1999 I separated from my husband of 24 years and I am now divorced. Now working as part of Ontario judiciary (gov't appointment) I live with my younge...Expand for more
st son in Brampton, Ontario. I hunt and fish and garden in my spare time. I still love to read and am intensely interested in world events. The last time I was in Calgary it was a one week Stampede stopover on my way back from San Francisco. I think it was 1997. I always go to Arnold Churgin. I did make it to the 25 year Viscount reunion in 1980. After the death of my father in 1981 my mother sold the house on Grafton Drive in 1989 and moved to Vancouver. One of my brothers - Rob - is a sargeant with Calgary Police Service and is the only one of us still in Calgary. Kathleen is in Nanaimo, Bill is in Okotoks, Pam and Gail are in Coquitlam. Like most people my age, I've learned not to sweat the small stuff and enjoy my life.

The snow on the concourse by the Welcome Centre is 6 feet deep and frozen solid. So it is now closed. There is no where to put it anyway.

My son Jay on the right and my nephew Russell on the left. We were laughing about how Canadian this picture was - cup of Timmie's, a Tuque, a hood ie, a parka, snowy weather and a Blue Jays baseball cap posing in front o
Everything is coated in very dense ice - in places it is 4 to 6 feet thick on the railings. It is frozen mist from the Falls.
The third bloom has opened but no sign of a second stalk. I am pleased nevertheless.
This year's tree because the foster dog likes to look out the window where the big tree usually goes.
