Ellen's Story
Life
After having such an AWESOME time at our 35th class reunion I was motivated to upgrade my membership for this service. So here's my life in a nutshell since leaving CHS in 1972:
1972-1974 Massasoit Community College;
1974-1976 Worked (dentist office) and lived in Canton;
1976-1979 Worked (Human Resources Office in West Hartford) and lived in (Forestville/Bristol) Connecticut. Shared an apartment with Patti Converse;
1979-1981 Returned to Canton. Worked in the Admissions Office at Boston State College;
1981-1990 Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Enrollment Services at the University of Massachusetts-Boston. Finally got my bachelor's degree there in 1989;
1990-1993 Full-time student at Harvard Divinity School. Got my Master's in Theological Studies in 3/93;
1993-1997 ...Expand for more
Associate Director of Admissions at Aquinas College in Newton. Moved to Ashmont Hill in Dorchester in 1995 and stayed until 2004. Happiest years of my life (so far!);
1997-Present: Senior Educational Advisor at the ASA (American Student Assistance) College Planning Center (formerly TERI College Planning Center) - - a non-profit that assists low income adults and young people with the college admission and financial aid process. Lived with my partner in West Roxbury from 2004 until April 2007. That arrangement did not work out so I am now living in Mansfield, MA. So far so good;
I am still in regular contact with Cathy Hollister, Helen Sarra, Donna Keefe and Barry Quinn.
The older I get the more I appreciate hearing from people I knew - - and who knew me - - when I was young!
