My husband Dan Dickinson and I were married in August 1969 and set off to a life with the Navy. We had two children, and from those two children we now have 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Life was good and then my sweet, loving husband of 43 years passed away on April 13, 2012.. A very dark time in my life. Sadly Dan never got to meet any of his great-grandchildren. My life had certainly changed in many ways, but God still had me in His hand.

y baby sister Linda asked me if I'd go out with one of the men she worked with who had lost his wife that year and I said I would. She arranged a double date for us with her and her husband. One October 4, 2014 I met Joe Hook for the first time. On November 4, after several dates throughout October, he asked me to marry him and I said yes. On December 20, 2014, we were married in church with all our close friends and family there to celebrate with us. Although we're older now and have health challenges, we are still happily married. He has to take care of me more than I have to take care of him, but I still manage to keep him fed. :) Let me tell you, when you let go and let God have control of your life, wonderful things will happen.
