Ellen's Story
Life
Moved to Puerto Rico in 1996 and left in 1973 and moved to Nairobi, Kenya. Since leaving Kenya (1975) - moved to Holland for a number of years where I finished school and eventually met my husband (English). Moved to England (1984) where we got married and had our two girls (Colette - 1987 and Annelies - 1990). Moved to Switzerland (1995) and on to France (1997). Had some great fun renovating our two old houses over the years. One is about 200 years old the other older, closer to 300 (this one we have just sold). Girls are completely multi-lingual (French, English and Dutch), but followed their schooling in French and English. As a family we ski in the winter (alpine) and ride ou...Expand for more
r horses throughout the year. Our quiet time is spent at our home in France. Husband, Alan, is a computer software consultant.
Colette will be 24 at the beginning of the year and is now a fully qualified horseriding instructor. She loves teaching and riding and these loves haven't deminished. She is now teaching at a stables in Gex, specialising in dressage.
Annelies is at university in England studying modern languages (French and Japanese).
So life is good.
Now that the girls are more or less independent, it gives Alan and I more time to travel together.
So, we have just moved to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Alan started a new job there in November 2009 there and I joined him in March 2010.
