Elsa's Story
Life
My life has been quite eventful. After graduation from Prairie Bible Institute in 1973, I joined Wycliffe Bible Translators and worked first in Brazil, then in Suriname. I returned to school (Bryan College in Tennessee) and received my bacherlor's degrees in psychology and elementary education in 1981. I attended Trinity Seminary in Deerfield, Illinois for one year in 1984-85, and then started working at Searle Pharmaceuticals in Skokie, Illinois for 10 years. greatest adventure of my life and adopted my daughter, Marisa, from China at the age of 6 months. In 1997 we left the Chicago area for central Illinois, and became part of the Generations of Hope program in Rantoul. Generations of Hope is a community of about 10 foster and adoptive families, along with senior citizens. Since 1997 I have adopted three more children--Katara, age 16; Steven, age 14; and Michael, age 10. We attend the Vineyard church in Urbana, Illinois. There is never a dull moment in our household. My life has been enriched by the very special children God has given to me!
