Emily's Story

Life I worked for a while after highschool doing accounting at a company called Hans Kissle. I met my husband of 12 years there. We have a 11 year old daughter Kayla, a 6 year old daughter Kristina, and a beautiful new baby boy Aidan that we were blessed (and surprised :)) with in Sept. 2005. We still reside in Plaistow in my parents old house. - Of course my folks dont live there anymore.. I hope to go back to accounting eventually but for now my priorities are my children. My oldest daughter Kayla has Autism and Mosaic Turner Syndrome so it is hard for me to work and try to make all her appointments PLUS make time for the others. Life is good though we are happy and everyone is healthy. I hope everyone is doing well. I dont bump into many people from our class. I still hang out with a few and talk to a few but for the most part everyone has seemed to go off an do differant things. I did put my picture in, however, I am always with kids so there is one with my 2 girls plus 2 of my nieces and the other is of ALL of my kids! Hope to hear from - well...anyone!! - 9/28/06- Just an update.... I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in July of 06. Just a reminder to young women to check yourselves and do those self breast exams! They are instrumental in early detection. I am undergoing extensive chemo and radiation along with surgery to try an beat this disease. I have 3 kids to bring up so I am fighting with everything I have. Tell every woman you, because more an more woman under 40 are being diagnosed w...Expand for more
ith breast cancer. This disease hits all ages! 12-19-06.. Since my last update in sept., I have had a double mastectomy and more chemotheropy. I hope all the woman out there are doing there self breast exams. It is so important! Chemo is tough, and so far the reconstruction after the mastectomy has been difficult but I am hanging in there! My friends and family have been wonderful and supportive. Ahh, 2007! coming to a close! THANK GOODNESS. Almost done chemo (15 months worth yikes!) I will be done reconstruction in april before we go to Disney. No more waiting to do things. I want my kids to have memories. I want to remember me. This is not to say that I feel like I am going to die any time soon, but statisticaly (sp?) my chances of havingit return are very high with the type of aggressive cancer I have. They say I am clean for now but it was in the lymph nodes so there is no telling where it could pop up! as you can imagine every headache every bone ache every EVERYTHING makes me wonder but my youngest is 3 and I havent got time to dwell. My father has passed away from cancer and my uncle has passed from cancer this year. This is not going to define me or keep me from living life. my oldest is in Jr. high and that in itself is enough to make me crazy. I was picked on in 6th grade by 2 girls so I know what 6th grade can be like especially if you have a disability. Ayway, PLEASE drop me an email or just say hi! I have a myspace page as well. myspace.com/emjvallettagelinas - in case you want to say hi!
