Emma's Story
Well now, where to start. I am the youngest of six children in a blended family, before it was popular to be in a blended family. His, Hers and Ours. and I am the Ours. My father had three daughers from his first marrage and my mother had a son and a daughter from her first marriage. Then they got married and had me. I was born during a blizzard and my mother has never tired of reminding me of that fact. My dad had to go home an milk the cows. But in those days they did not let dad's into delivery rooms anyway.
I grew up on a 360 acre farm in Minitare,...Expand for more
Nebraska. At one time I though I could catch up to my older sibblings in age. Well, guess what? It has never happened. When I was 11 we moved to Grants Pass, Oregon. There we only had 33 acres, but I had all sorts of logging roads and paths to ride my horse around on. I spent hours doing that. By that time, all my older sibblings had grown and had families of their own. So I was pretty much on my own. I loved reading and my horses, dogs and cats. The cows were friendly if you were going to feed them.
I went away to boarding academy for high school.
