Eric's Story

1-18-09 Not too much new that hasn't been listed previous. Yikes! My son will be going to high school soon! And my oldest daughter will be right behind him! We still have tons of fun as a family and we stay way too busy! We are truly blessed, that's for sure. I still work for ConocoPhillips, and Marilyn is still working at the kids' school, where she is still a teacher/teacher's aide, and now she does the website stuff for the school and is slowly, by default, becoming the IT person there too. Yep, you guessed it, we're still DEBT-FREE! We still live in Riverton, WY, out in the country a little bit, but its nice and peaceful. Anyway, that's about all that's new, just getting older, but not sure about wiser?? Check out the snow owl, he flew in from the arctic a few years ago and landed in our plant, totally exhausted, so he was nursed back to good health by a co-worker of mine, and then sent on his way!! Sometimes that's the way we are, we are just totally exhausted from the flight, and in need of some time off, and someone to reach out and help. If you are in need of help, I pray you'll get it, and if you are help, I pray you'll give it, cause Life is a Gift. Keep in touch. Life 10-27-07 Things are still going great, we are busier than ever. Marilyn is a 1/2time teacher, 1/2time teacher's aide where the kids attend private christian school here in Riverton, WY. She teaches latin3, science, math, reading, and all sorts of stuff, and this past fall she coached the middle-school volleyball team. I still work for COP. I really enjoy my career, where else could I work less than half the year and still bring home such a great salary, the energy biz is crazy right now, that's for sure. I hope you're all working toward becoming and living debt-free, cause believe me, IT's WORTH EVERY MINUTE to live debt-free! Anyway, we have a new addition to our family. Her name is Chloe, and she showed up last May, right on time, and no, we didn't have to make a new baby room, but we did have to make a stall in the barn just for the little philly! Chloe has been a ton of fun for our family since she was born to our mare, Hannah. The kids are super fond of her and spoil her to death and Marilyn stays busy training her every step of the way. I went to Scotland this past winter for a short stint for work, to the North Sea on a gas processing platform about 70km out in one of the roughest seas I've ever seen. All in all, though the trip was quite fast and didn't leave much time for sight-seeing(lots of big...Expand for more
50ft waves and plenty of wind/water), it was quite an andventure and the helicopter rides out to sea were unbelievable. It was quite an experience and someday soon we'll plan a family trip to the UK and Europe I hope... Brandon played football for Riverton Middle School this past fall and they only lost one game, Brittney played volleyball under Mama's coaching and they all did great! Bailey is taggin' along on everything, takin' piano lessons and she is our true animal lover, she likes to work with Chloe, she plays with the dog and cat, and she makes sure the horses are all tended to, and at almost 7yrs old, that's quite a job, but she seems to really love it! That's about all for now... 9-16-06 I'm married to Marilyn (Smith), with 3 wonderful children. One boy 12, and two girls, 11 and 6. I work for gas plants in controls, programming and engineering process controls for plants, and maintaining control systems. Its often very challenging but I love the excitement of making things work like they should. It's especially fun to be on the leading edge of process knowledge, controls, and equipment, trying new controls and pushing the limits of older systems. As for my spare time, I really enjoy the outdoors and we love to go to the mountains. We currently have a home outside of Riverton, WY that we built in 2003. The land has some hay fields on it too, so we're trying to learn how to be farmers. The house is way too big, consumes all spare time, but there's nothing like living in the country. God, my wife, and my kids are everything to me. As far as the kids go, well there's nothing like having a tough day at work and coming home to someone who has waited all day to see you, and just wants to roll around on the floor with you, smacking you on the head with a pillow or something! Its great. My son is wanting to go hunting with me all the time now, so we go when we can. I play lots of city league basketball in the winter, and hunt big game and waterfowl like crazy in the fall. I love riding horses in the mountains, or with my wife and kids just around our place, riding my 4wheeler in the desert, church functions, and a day of fishing is pretty hard to beat. Anyway, I don't really have good contacts with too many people from high school, most of my friends now are work or church related, with the exception of a few. I love to play the guitar and sing in church and local events, but hey, you probably won't see me on the charts any time soon, hee, hee! That's about all for now...
