Eric's Story

Life I'm still single and living off in California. I know, I know... I always said... "California! Yech! I'll never live there!" So I figure some of ya owe me some "I told ya so"s. Anyhow, I went to DeVry for 3 years, studied Electrical Engineering to the grand conclusion that I hated it, but I decided to finish the degree none the less. Then in 1997, I moved out here to Cali for a Software Engineering job with a company called LTX, which I'm still at. All I can say is... The weather's a whole lot better out here. *grin* Anyways, check out my webpages to see my art, poetry, photography and music. College What can I say about DeVry... Well... My high school was more of a college than DeVry was. I don't exactly resent my time spent there, but I don't think it was the right choice for me really. If you want to learn something, but feel you aren't motivated... DeVry might be the school for you. If you like learning... well... you probably...Expand for more
won't for a few years afterwards even. I guess it's a pet peeve of mine... homework should never be required and only should help those that can't do well on tests. I lost more letter grades to homework than to not understanding. There were a few good teachers there, but there were a lot of bad ones. I think it best illustrated why people with degrees shouldn't teach without getting some sort of education degree too. Workplace I currently work for a company called LTX. It's at the bleeding edge of technology and is a hellacious amount of coding... but I wouldn't have it any other way. Like all good jobs it's a bit love/hate... but C'est la vie. I often get asked what it is we really do... simplest answer is that we design software and hardware to test microprocessors (and related things.) I work on the software end. Anyhing beyond that requires far more typing than I care to devote, and more than likely more than you'd care to read. :>
