Eric's Story
Life
Hello,
Well, I left Alameda in 1979 and joined the CCC, had a great year of fighting fires, building trails, etc. around Yreka, CA. then moved into firefighting and forestry, working for a few years on the Tahoe National Forest, & married Tammy Schultz in 1982. (We divorced in 1991).
I moved into underground mining (drilling & blasting) in 1983, and spent the next 15 years in the industry, after taking a position as Technical Representativ for Atlas Powder Co in 1986.
I worked for them throughout the western US handling all types of explosives accounts, ie; mining, construction, tunneling, dams, etc. for over 10 years, & then branched off with my own company Bennett NW Enterprises, In...Expand for more
c. in 1997, to perform drilling & blasting contracting at Gallahgher & Burk's Oakland Hills quarry.
We lived in Gig Harbor, & Spokane, WA, and Sonora, Grass Valley, Paradise, Copperopolis, CA during those years. I live in Las Vegas right now and work as an Inspector on a huge tunnel project, (underground construction) bringing water to las Vegas from underneath Lake mead, right adjacent to Hoover Dam!
I've owned land on a lake where I call home in Newport,Washington near the Idaho border for 15 years. I have two grandchildren, am happily re-married to Kimberly Pittman (formerly Kaufman) of Alameda. I still play music all the time, (drums) and have performed with many greats over the years.
