Eric's Story
Avid Oregon Duck Fan!!! I did manage to see their home game opener against Fresno State in 2021 and had a very pleasant dinner and visit with my friend, Jerry Allen [the play-by-play announcer for the team] and his wife!!!
I am still undergoing treatments for the two different lung cancers as I have Small cell and Non-Small cell) and am awaiting the CT Scan to see the results if the cancer(s) have spread to any more areas. So due to my underlining health conditions, I am presently and somewhat enjoying my “retirement” despite that I was “forced” into retirement after my 15 ½ year stint with Nevada Parole and Probation and my year or so with Nevada Taxation [I had gone to Nevada PERS to check on my retirement status where I briefly met one supervisor that I trained when I was at P&P as she was running out of the building crying and said that her superior at P&P had “forced” her out of her position and it was due to the fact that “she did don’t fit in with the Good o’ Boys system” established at her workplace. hers of higher ranking officials “eliminated” from their titles.] [Nevada Taxation was a JOKE to work for and I cannot see or understand how they are able to collect money from the businesses. There was one co-worker that seeming controlled the operations for the entire State and due to her demeanor and domineering behavior where everything HAD to go through her FIRST, she managed to get rid of at least five-to-six Administration Assistants in the five years she had been working there. I was next on her list and when I had given my very short notice of leaving because of my health conditions, I was told that she had gone through the halls of the office and saying, ‘Good! I’m glad he’s going. I hated him!’ (I will end my comments here!)
Nonetheless, not only has my health basically prohibited me from going up to Lake Tahoe and laying out on my rock at the nude beach, but I do miss hiking around the woods and other outdoor activities. ‘tis a pity that I nearly have to have an ambulance called when I just walk from my car into a C-Store to pay for the gas!
