Eric's Story

Hi everyone, since graduation from Eisenhower I went to Augsburg College from 1982-1983, 1985-1988 and 1993-1994 taking breaks in-between. For 1983 I went from working part-time at Target to full time at 7-Eleven; first in Hopkins and then transferring to Lake Minnetonka/Orono. I then quit work and went back to college. The 2nd break in 1988 I moved to Las Vegas and worked in some casinos at first but ended up working at several 7-Elevens until January 1993 when my parent's offered to give me free expenses if I returned and finished my college degrees. I ended up with two Business Administration degrees; Accounting and Finance. Since June 1994 I had worked in the Collections Field, having worked at a couple of collections agencies and then one of them placed me at the oldest Credit Union in Minnesota; US Federal Credit Union in 1997. They hired me on January 2, 1998 until they let me go August 13, 2008. I took a few months off and then actively looked for a new career (along with most every one else). I started working at Walmart in May 2010 and am still there. I lived in Apple Valley 1998-2003 having bought a condominium but then I bought a house in Lakeville, where I have been since. I have no children and have never been married. I had two girlfriends my entire life; Kim in high school and a girl named Annette I met at Target in 1983. Both lasted about 2 years. In junior high I had a crush on Sally Combs and finally had the nerve to ask her to dance at the 20th reunion. I cherish the photo that was taken of us dancing. In 2003 I met a girl who I became really good friends with and developed deep feelings for. She died in April 2007. I grieved for 8 months. In 2004 I met another girl who I am still good friends with, but only friends. My life long friend Steve Ward and I parted ways in either 2006 or 2007... its been awhile... I...Expand for more
put-off Terry Juntunen about 2003 or so, I'm not sure why I ever befriended him. He's turned into a real weird person. If you knew him in high school and thought he was weird then... well... he's gotten worse! I met a guy at a bar in 2006 who I became friends with. So up until November 2010 I had 2 friends, 1 male and 1 female. I missed the 25th reunion due to the timing of it. Update: I have met a wonderful woman who also works at Walmart. She's a widow with 4 girls, slightly older than me but I have fallen in Love once more. I met her in August 2010 and we've been dating since November when I finally got the nerve up to ask her out. We've clicked. Recently I bought a wedding ring for her and a wedding band for me. She knows about the ring; having picked it out one day when we went to the Mall of America, but I know she's not ready to re-marry yet, so I gave her my wedding band and told her when she's ready, to propose to me... then I will propose to her. She's never been out of the country, and I'd like to do something different for a wedding, so I've brought up the idea of getting married at sea with her. She responds positively to the idea. We'll see. I've met her family and she has met my brother's. My parents are next. Hopefully I'll be engaged by the time of the 30th reunion, if not married. Update 3/2012: Working at Walmart. Still dating girl mentioned last update, her name is Kathy. Unknown if marriage will happen any time soon, but we're already acting like the stereotypical "married couple" even though we still live in our own separate houses and only see each other a couple days a week outside of work. My parents did meet her and love her. She spent last Christmas Eve with my family and I spent Christmas day with hers. All is going well... except for working at Walmart where our hours are getting cut all the time.
