Eric's Story
Workplace
I work as an Oracle Database programmer at Webster Bank in Bristol CT. In the winter I work as a part time snowboard instructor at Ski Sundown in New Hartford.
Military
I was in the CT National Guard from January 1990 - January 1999.
I started out in a signal corp unit in New Haven (B-280th), until it was merged with another signal unit out of Niantic (C-280th). We never did anything too exciting. The only traveling ...Expand for more
we did was to the woods of Louisiana and the only thing we say were trees.
During desert shield we were told that we we're on the list to go over. But rumor has it that the next month we were put high on the list until they realized that our unit's equipment was 20+ years old (ie: vietnam era commo equipment)
I do miss seeing everyone from the 2 units, but am glad that I don't have to worry about going to Iraq. (as does my family)
