Eric's Story
Life
Hey! I've been living here in the "Bluegrass" (Simpsonville, Kentucky) for over 8 years now. I'm a physics teacher at Shelby County High School in Shelbyville. (Go Rockets!) I finally enjoy what I'm doing and I absolutely love teaching! On the personal side, I've been married to my wife Stacey, who is from Gardner, MA, for over 7 years now - we've been together for over 12 years. She is a Medical Technologist at the University of Louisville Hospital. Our beautiful daughter Kaylee Nicole turned 5 in April and our handsome son Riley will be 2 in June. They and Stacey are the best things to ever happen to me! My main hobbies include riding my ATV and racing playing video games. I'm also completely addicted Final Fantasy, Rock Band, Bioshock, and Halo 3. (Xbox Live Gamertag: Dawn Treader I) I'd love to hear from everyone...feel free to drop me a line. ence in Mechanical Engineering in 1996 from Worcester Polytechinic Instutute (WPI). From 2000 to 2003 I attended the University of Kentucky Graduate School working on my Masters in ME. After my thesis grant funding dried up, I took a year off before returing to school at Eastern Kentucky University. In 2005, I received my Master of Arts in Teaching degree and my certification in Secondary School Physics.
Workplace
Well, I put in 11 1/2 very enjoyable years at Olympia Sports. I started there Junior year and left when I came to KY for school in 2000. I worked my way up to store manager and ended up managing the stores in Natick, Leominster, and Gardner. I really enjoyed working for Olympia and made many friends, but the reality was that there was no room for advancement. As much as I wanted to stay, I just felt it was best to move on. I don't regret it!
In August of 2005, I started my present career as a high school science teacher.
