Eric's Story
Life
Right now life is pretty good, got about 3-4 months left in Iraq then i get to come home and start normal life again!!! I have 1 year of rotations to complete when i get back then i will hopefully be a pharmacist. So far i don't have a lot of things in my life, no kids no wife not even a real job. But I believe i have lived life so far to the fullest and i don't regret one day. I've been to over 34 countries and 5 continents. My life as been an adventure, one learning experience after another. I guess if i could do just one thing over I would have been a better husband, i did learn a lot from that as well and i have no regrets. Anyway life in Iraq is different than anything i have ever known. I am amazed to find so much good and so much evil in one place and sometimes its hard to tell the difference. I'm not sure doing what i do here is making a difference. I love my country and if this will protect my family back home then i beleive in it.
College
My favorite college memories were at UND living in the "Tool Shed" with Valorie, Deb, Wendl...Expand for more
e, and ED. I had a blast! Coming home from class to find a cold Keg of beer in the middle of the living room. I also remember playing in the Band "OLD SCIENCE" at the EDGE or Down under. My grades weren't great but i would'nt trade those times for anything.
Workplace
I guess i have always had one job or another. Along with the military i worked at Fargo, and Grand Forks Red Lobster. That was one of my favorite jobs. I met some of the most positive, motivated people i have ever known there. I was a server and i actually got paid to do what i like to do. Talk to people and make them happy, Unless their lobster was cold of course. Now i am employed with Walgreens. I have a great time there as well. Working there i ensured myself that pharmacy was indeed the profession for me!
Military
I can't really remember too much from my Navy days, but i'm still living the army life. Serving in Iraq i've become a better person. Closer to God and my friends have become my brothers for life. Living there has taught me to never take a single day for granite.
