Eric's Story
School
Looking back, I almost wished that I never went to EO'B... Though I don't regret meeting any of my friends there... I wish that I would bump into some of them sometime... Anyway, if I had gone to Shelton High I feel that it would have put me on better course, more prepared for the business world that I work in now... I would probably have been fluent in Spanish a long time ago... (Yeah, I took some Spanish in college, but most of my fluency was achieved out of school...)
I could have been on to learning Japanese by now... I wish Emmett had foreign language classes instead of TYPING... I can type just as fast as most people who touch type, yet I do it my own way... A language would have helped me much more in life that a stupid typing class...
College
I got education in BS... or is it a BS in Education? =) Anyways, having a college degree sure helped in getting my job, even though being a systems administrator has nothing to do with Education... However I've attended numerous seminars ...Expand for more
and training classes in a variety of computer related subjects... Hey, if the company is willing to sent me... I'm going!
Southern Connecticut State University is a great school... I'd love to go back an study something else... if I ever get the chance...
Workplace
I'm a systems administrator... specifically in charge of data protection and disaster recovery... Did you lose a file? I got it! The server died? I got it! A fire destroyed the whole building and all the data on all the computers is gone? I GOT IT! You get the picture? =)
Military
Never served, I wish that I had... ah... regrets... If I had the opportunity to do it all over... I'd go either Navy or Airforce for computer-related studies or Army for Medical-Related fields... Hind sight is always 20/20... Some buddies of mine have retired from the Army and are collect fat checks for putting in 20 years... It pays their mortgage... Damn...
