Eric's Story
Life
I graduated from Wheaton High School in Wheaton, Maryland. Attended Frostburg State College for awhile and then transfered to the University of Maryland where I graduated and began teaching at Bethesda Elementary School. I left there after 5 1/2 years and getting a Masters Degree at George Washington University. I then taught at Fox Chapel Elementary School for three years. Then College Gardens Elementary School and finally at Montgomery Village Junior High School where I was a reading specialist. I then found a job overseas at the American School of Aberdeen. I met my wife, Dominique skiing in Austria and we have a daughter, Lindsay who was born in Aberdeen, Scotland. Dominique is from Nancy, France. We speak both French and English at home. I stayed at the American School of Aberdeen for fourteen years and became the Principal. We then went to Brussels, Belgium where I was the Principal of the Elementary School for five years. Now we are in Gothenburg, Sweden where I have been the Principal of the International Section (K-10). tional School of Dakar (K-12). Lindsay is now 14 years old and will be 15 in June. We had three dogs, Valentine who died our first year in Sweden at age 13, Vanilla who came with us from Scotland and will be 15 in August and Belgie whom we got in Blankenberg, Belgium and he is seven years old. We are looking forward to our move. I will turn 60 in September 2004. We were in Dakar, Senegal from 2004 to 2010 but in 2010, my wife died from cancer very suddenly after we had bought a house in France. I am now living in France in that house and am a retired principal. Lindsay, my dauighter, graduated from the International School of Dakar seven months after the death of her mother. My dog, Vanilla, died the same night I returned from knowing the my wife was going to die. I stayed in Dakar until June 2010 and then as I mentioned, came to France to retire. My daughter is in Dakar at the moment. She studied two years in tourism and hospitality in Batavia, New York and wants to be a flight attendant. She is doing an internship with an airline in Dakar, Senegal thanks to her friend's father. Hopefully, it will lead to a job as jobs are not easy to come by today. ,
