Eric's Story
Life
After high school, I (as many others did) worked over at Ocean Beach for the summer.
Afterwards, I joined the U.S. Coast Guard and served for 22 years (total active/reserve). I became a team leader of a drug/law enforcement team, travelling all over Central/South America and the Caribbean, besides the U.S., countering the drug importation and intelligence gathering for covert operations. I was based out of the Florida Key's during one of my tours and decided to make it home (at least for 14 years).
I transferred to the reserves and became a full-time law enforcement officer, with a Sheriff's Office in Florida. I was an officer there for over 12 years and one assignment was the Traffic Division. I was one of only 3 motorcycle officer's of the 600 member department. I was also the officer in charge of the department's Honor Guard. Past Master of a Masonic Lodge. I was involved in an on-duty motorcycle crash in 2000,...Expand for more
which almost ended my career.
After my surgeries and during my rehab, I worked briefly with Tyco/ADT as a consultant and corporate representative for corporations/large business safety and security for post September 11th safety and security.
After attaining a full recovery from my motorcycle accident, I decided to return to law enforcement. After several years and moving steadily through the ranks, I was appointed second in command of a police department in Florida before retiring fully in 2018 after a total L.E. career of 28 1/2 years, along with my 22 year career in the U.S. Coast Guard.
I would like to hear from any of my classmates (especially those who I affiliated with) and know what they are up to. I am on aol, my user name and email is KeyMtcyCop. I still travel to Long Island on rare occasions (lol), as a lot of my family still resides there, but have lost touch with most of my alumni and friends from there.
