Eric's Story
I sang in the shower and for captive audiences, and enjoyed it, but always seemed to confuse singers around me, so I never got any musical education or experience. I got recruited to the Seattle Labor Chorus at a fundraiser and when I showed up(!)I saw a whole knot of rejects like me at the end or the room - the bass section. Turns out I've got some pipes on me. Wow. I met the other 30-40 singers, among them a lovely young (too, I thought)woman named Aspen. d notice of that community, and attended a few outside events and lovely time passed til one chorus-practice the Director got up at the halftime break to say "today's Aspens's birthday and she'd like 3 minutes of your time," after which Aspen got up in front of the group and started singing, solo, acapella, a Dylan song we'd heard in the summertime, called "you're gonna make me lonesime when you go," but she'd re-written the lyrics and her closing line was "eric nelson, will you marry me?". Wow. Life is amazing.
