Eric's Story
Life
College didn't completely agree with me. (Most of you who knew me probably figured this out before I did.) After leaving Univ of Colorado in 1973, I worked for my family for a while, and then got into the music business. From 1975 to 1986, I spend time on the road, mostly as a photographer and roadie, for Aerosmith, Molly Hatchet, The Outlaws, Cheap Trick, Blue Oyster Cult, Starz and many others. I ended the stint as asst production manager for Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band.
While on the road, I became hooked on computers, and began writing software for the business. When I stopped touring, I took a job as VP, Production and Operations for a newspaper FSI company in Westport, CT called the National Publishing Company from 1989 to 1994. In 1995, I began working as an Internet consultant for WestDeutches...Expand for more
Landes Bank, a German investment bank. From there, I started working at ModemMedia, an early Internet advertising firm. and in 1997, I went to APLDigital (another internet ad agency) as VP, Senior Technologist responsible for the Compaq Computer account. Finally, I went to Grey Advertising with I was VP, Chief Technology Officer and eventually Global CIO for Grey Interactive. Right now, I'm the Vice President of Search and Social Media for an internet publisher called TechMediaNetwork. I also have my own consulting business focused on search engine optimization and frequently travel around the country to speak at industry events.
During the summer, my wife and I spend weekends on our boat "Gypsea Girl". Favorite haunts are Zieglers Cove in Darien, Essex, and Block Island. If you see us out there, give us a holler.
