After graduating from Shorewood, I matriculated to Pacific Lutheran University and studied there for a year and a half before I transferred to Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. In 2001, I received my BA in Philosophy and Classical Languages from Northwestern, and moved back to Western Washington for work.
In 2006 I returned to Chicago, IL where I completed a Master of Arts degree in the Humanities at the University of Chicago, studying Classical Languages (Attic Greek and Latin).
Just before leaving Seattle for Chicago in 2005, I was married in Kirkland to my wife, Jamie Ann (Gonzales) Schmidt, the lo...Expand for more
ve of my life and beat of my heart. Married life agrees with me very well, and I look forward to every new day I have with her.
After I graduated from the University of Chicago, my wife and I returned to Western Washington.
As of June 2008, I began working at Microsoft Corporation as a Technical Writer. For the first year and a half, I wrote "Help and How-to" articles about my favorite presentation software, PowerPoint. Later, I began developing content for Microsoft Visio 2010, an awesome diagramming program.
In January of 2010, we set down roots by buying a house in Mountlake Terrace, WA. Our house even features a creek in the backyard and wild animals for our cats to yell at.
