Eric's Story
Towards the end of my Freshman year at Fountain Valley High School, my parents pulled all 3 kids out of public schools and put us into Catholic schools. Unfortunately for me, Mater Dei was fully impacted and there was no opening my Sophomore year. Thus I found myself attending St. Vincent's High School Seminary in Montebello, which was affiliated with our parish in Huntington Beach.
After a year at St. Vincent's, I found it easier to just stay on rather than changing schools again, so I graduated there in 1981 and continued on to the Catholic college seminary, St. Mary's in Perryville, Missouri.
In less than two years, I came to the realization that the Catholic ministry was not my true vocation and I left mid-year to start a new life in Seattle, Washington.

ry day to work. In 1986, I got sick of the constant rain and gloom and moved back down to southern California to finish college.
I got an evening job at Lucky's as a clerk while going to school, and then moved on to an aerospace company and eventually joined Fluor Corp. in 1990. I left Fluor in 1999 to work at Roland as their web manager, and then joined a "dot com" startup and had a wild ride for a year until that went bust. After that, I found myself back at the "new" Fluor, where I have worked ever since.
I got married in 1991 to my beautiful wife, Jana; our daughter, Kendyl was born 10 years later (yes, we took time to enjoy life and travel a bit before settling down), and then our son, Dylan was born a few years later.
We have lived in Foothill Ranch since 1995. We still have Niko (our Shiba Inu) who is now about 13 years old.
