My life since high school: 1989-1991: I attended a couple of years at the University of Arizona, completing a lot of pre-major courses towards a Computer Science major. The first year I pretty much leached off my parents and, while my grades were good, I didn't really appreciate the value of what they were paying for. The second year I met Mary, the woman that would become my wife in June of 1991. I let school fall by the wayside and basically dropped out after my sophomore year when we were married. 1991-1993: Mary and I struggled through 2 years of a marriage that never really should have happened. She was a 32 year old mother of 3 with a pretty hard life and several divorces behind her and I was a stupid 19 year old who didn't know what I was getting into. After 2 years, we called it quits and, by the grace of God, my company promoted me and moved me to Arlington,TX (in the middle of Dallas & Fort Worth). The timing was an an excellent opportunity for a life-restart for me. 1993-1995: American Airlines is who I was working for in Tucson and who moved me to their headquarters to be a programmer for the software they used at their reservations centers. (I was a reservations agent in Tucson for them) That turned into a salaried position with Sabre, their IT division in 1995. 1995-2001: In January of 1995, I met Sherry Gamelin and immediately had a crush on her. We dated for a couple of weeks and then she promptly dumped me! I stuck around, being a friend and in May we started dating again. She, her dad and I all went on a backpacking trip around eastern Europe that May and somewhere between Prague and Venice we fell in love. I p...Expand for more
