Eric's Story
Life
Hi everyone,
Well, I've come a long way since High School. I am attending the University of Michigan, and am pursuing a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree, concentrating in Painting. I have worked full-time ever since graduation, and finally feel that my life is in my own hands.
I'm married, and have a step-daughter, and we live together on the west side of Flint.
I still play the piano and have picked up the harmonica, am an artist, pursuing my writing abilities, and pretty much am enjoying my life.
I currently have no contact with my family, and am a better person because of it. I will continue this estrangement indefinitely.
My Life-goal is to be a painter.
Update: 7/18/05
I've left the University, short of completing my Bachelor's Degree, ran out of money. In the last year or so have discovered that I have a mysterious illness that has plagued me since adolescence. The symptoms mirror schitzophrenia and bipolar disorder, but unlike these illnesses, the symptoms turn on and off like a light switch. Who knew?

School
I attended many schools.
I started in Young 5's at Stone School in Saginaw, MI in 1982, moved to Bridgeport in 1983, attending Schluckebier for Kintergarden.
From 1984-1986 I attended Kaufman School for 1st through 3rd grades, went to Schrah elementary from 1987 through 1988 for 4th and 5th grades. Went to Bridgeport Middle School from 1989 through 1992 for 6th through 8th grades.
We then moved to Birch Run in the Summer of 1992. 1992 through 1996 I attended High School and Birch Run for 9th through 12th grades.
After graduation, I took a year off.

of Michigan-Flint, which is where I stayed until 2004 when I ran out of money. I also attended Mott Community College in conjuction with the University as a requirement for their Art Program, which I attended from 2000 to 2003. Currently, I'm repaying my loans to the U.S. Department of Education and hope to complete my degree at a later date.

I'm very disappointed with where I've landed post-college. I believe that had the classes been available in the evenings, when I could complete the work, I would have a Bachelor's Degree by now. The University of Michigan-Flint has a staffing problem, that is, their budget doesn't allow for the advanced Art Instructors to cover evening shifts. The Professors are allowed to schedule at their convenience, which is between 9am and 4pm, which limited my abilities to attend due to my work schedule. I left the University very bitter.
