Erik's Story
Life
Good lord... My biography--Well, since I left Duxbury and moved to Cape Cod (and then Oakland and then Houston and then Oakland again and now back to Houston) I have mostly been working on music and related things.... Working in record stores and amassing the knowledge and record collection that would best define my librarian instincts.... Put out some records (look For Mumble And Peg in a used CD store near you).... toured around the US and Europe playing music and attempting to leave the clubs and go record shopping whenever possible...Gave that musician thing up (though old habbits die hard), so that I could stay at home with my pets and parter, Virginia.... Started working as an agent to send other musicians around the highways... This allows me to test my concepts in music marketing and world domination... Learned a few things... Forgot some others... Generally, I never let go of the teenage dream of a life in music... I just don't like to leave the hosue to do it! December '03 Virginia and I bought a house...Expand for more
in a Brady Bunch looking neighborhood in Houston.... Weekdays I sit at the computer playing agency guy and then on the weekends I chip away at the never ending list of home owner stuff to do around the house (or ignore those things and go junking at estate sales and antique stores looking for records and other dust collectors to fill the house with)... Generally happy in my simple little life...Glad that I have managed to not die (so far)... Glad that I have managed to make an okay living doing something I like to do... Fighting the good fight for the musicians that I love.... All in all I would say that I have stumbled into some pretty okay situations through it all... It has been a decent couple of decades....
2015 Edit: That pretty much stays the pattern until recently when I got a call from the 29 year old daughter I never knew I had (and her two kids)! So I went from Uncle to grandfather (twice over) pretty damn quick! Been a fun roller coaster catching up with those guys and building a relationship. Good times!
