Erika's Story
In the autumn of '69, I headed south to Duke University. After four years (one semester spent in France), I graduated and pursued my M.A.T. also at Duke. I began teaching. In '77, I married Dr. Byron Hoffman,Jr. of Atlanta, GA. In'79, we moved back to NC to a small town where he began his practice, and I taught at the local high school. In '81, our first child was born, a son. In '83 a second son. In '86, a third son followed. In '87 I had a girl. Intermittently, I taught, but mostly I stayed home with the kids.
All three sons have graduated college now and our baby girl is a senior at UNC-CH. Four...Expand for more
years ago, my elderly widowed dad moved from NJ to NC and lives with me. As I care for him, I pen stories and have now been published in Chicken Soup for the Soul, A Cup of Comfort, and many magazines both secular and religious. In the fall, my novel will be published by Comfort Publishing under the pseudonym, Riki Vogel. Its title is Red Flags! I hope you all buy a copy. It's a soap opera/family saga/thriller!
I've had a good life, travelled a lot, made many friends, and have had good health. I love NC but miss NJ at times, especially the beach. I appreciate the education I got in Jersey as well!
