Ernest's Story
Life
Life has many transistions, and this latest one for me is a doozer. My wife and I split and I am living alone in Modesto, still near my kids to support them and help see them through their middle and high school years.
As many of my old friends already know, I'm a gay guy. My wife and I made a good run at making it work for many years, but for personal reasons decided to call it quits. We never had any secrets.
I'm now enjoying life as a gay guy in Modesto, California. So far it reminds me of Alice in Wonderland's story - very Surreal. th people are dedicated to watching out for me. I need this right now in my life.
School
I miss the old friendships and days when it was easier to be myself. I miss the days hanging out with Jenneane, Darren, Rick, Randy, Vanessa, Denise, Butch, Sal, and football or YoungLife buddies. Like most adolescents, I made my mistakes and apologize to those they may have affected.
College
I spent four years in four different junior colleges, finally transferring and graduating from Hayward State University in Human Development. I later enrolled in San Jose State and received two teaching credentials in elementary and special education.
Workplace
I spent the last ten years teaching mostly Hispanic children at the elementary school level. I've made a lot of new friends (coworkers), but will transfer to a new school next fall. I enjoy working with kids. They make me laugh. Next year I will work with mostly fifth and sixth graders.
